A Little Mug History

Tradition

We are a family owned and operated restaurant, proudly serving New Hampshire's Lakes Region community since 1968. We never forget our motto "Good Food & Good Times." We continue as the Mug has done for over 38 years, to buy our meats and produce fresh daily from a local source. This helps to insure a quality product at a good price. Many of our customers grew up frequenting The Mug and now they bring their own children. We try very hard to provide a family friendly and social atmosphere. Family is what THE MUG is all about. It is the perfect place to bring children of all ages. There is one thing we never forget - our customers are the TRADITION - You make The Mug special!!!

How did the Burgers get their names?

Most of the sandwiches were named after customers when The Mug was owned by Paul Kiah, Bob Hormell, and his brother George Hormell (1972 - 1985).

LTJ's Delight
Named after a customer who created this sandwich and ordered it everyday for lunch. Thus Lunch Time Jim was then added to the menu.

Dynoburger
Named after a very attractive woman who frequented The Mug. "The guys" at the bar called her DYNAMITE!

Kayoburger
Lee Duncan, who's license plate says "KAYO," would order this sandwich to be specially made for him. It became a popular request and was added to the menu.

Ben's California Pizza
Ben Quinn went out to California to work for a summer and discovered this new and intersting pizza. He suggested to Paul, Bob, and George that they try it and it became a very popular item.
